Perhaps the most recognized landmark students recall from the old Shih Lin campus was the bell hanging in front of the "Resource Center", pictured here. That bell was moved to the new campus (see info below picture) and remains a landmark even today.
Taipei American School celebrated fifty (50) years of service to the international community during the 1999-2000 school year. In all those years the school has occupied (or sprawled across) five different campuses, starting with an old building occupied by a bank in downtown Taipei during the early 1950s to a new state-of-the-art campus in Tien Mou today.
The current facility occupies the same plot of land that the Tien Mou MAAG mini-compound sat during the 1960s-1970s and where the Tien Mou Teen Club and other attractions were contained.
